Veno - Hi, how are you doing?

Claudia - Well i'm really excited to talk to you and learn about Vedic Astrology. Tell us what that is.

Veno - Well Vedic Astrology is part of the ancient Indian vessel of knowledge called the Vedas which was actually an oral teaching. It's a body of knowledge which sheds light on everything about the enlightenment of man. It contains all the Indian spiritual teachings. It covers all the things including knowledge we need for daily living, yoga, medicine..Astrology is actually called the Eye of the Vedas, it's real name is Jyotish, because it's one of the things that helps us see our true path in life as souls. Apart from Jyotish the Vedas cover meditation, history of the universe, they give you detailed information about all the gods and the hierarchy that exists in the universe.

Vedic Astrology was passed down orally since the beginning of time, since the universe was created, when our world and all of the planets was created by Lord Brahma. Lord Brahma had seven sons many many eons ago and one of the sons born to one of these sages was called Parashara and he wrote down the first written information about Jyotish, and for 5000 years it has remained pretty much intact in India and this is the knowledge about Vedic Astrology which we use today.

But it is quite different from Western Astrology because Western Astrology came through Babylonian ancient civilisation and so there's a big difference today in the two systems.

Claudia - Ok, what's the difference in what you can learn from the two systems? Is there a difference in that?

Veno - Well basically there is a big debate going on because first of all the Babylonian Astrology which came through that route , the one they use today is based on Ptolemy who was a Greek philosopher a couple of thousand years ago and what happened with their system.. Their system is based on the position of how the Sun is referenced against the earth's horizon at a particular locale which gives you the seasons as a measure of time, so their zodiac is constructed based on the Sun and where it is referenced against the earth.. whereas the sidereal zodiac used by Vedic Astrologers is about the constellations as they actually are located in the sky when you go out at night and look at the sky.

The only thing is that when Ptolemy was introducing this system, his system was also in sync with the stars as they were in the sky and this is 2000 years ago. So actually the Tropical zodiac today is symbolic. It's based on a zodiac that existed 2000 years ago and Vedic Astrology has kept up to date because it is in alignment with the stars and constellations as they actually are in the sky. One of the important things about Vedic Astrology is it is more accurate.

Claudia - Wow, really?

Veno - Yeah, the Tropical zodiac, because it was revitalized in the middle ages and through the Theosophians, Helena Blavatsky and that group, they forgot to take the precession of the equinoxes into account which causes a difference of where the zodiac starts today between the two systems, the 1st point of Aries.

With alot of ancient civilizations, there's alot of knowledge which has been lost throughout time and with the Indian system the knowledge has pretty much remained intact for thousands of years and it has been written down. Vedic astrology is more accurate and more complex.

In Tropical Astrology they have one horoscope for a person. In Vedic Astrology there's 22 horoscopes for a person pertaining to every different aspect of their life whether it is money, spirituality, children.. It's much more detailed. It's meant to be more complicated than astro physics.

Claudia - Wow, you have to be really smart to do this?

Veno - You need to study alot. It does take around 10 years of intensive study to even know the science fairly well.

Claudia - Oh Wow..

Veno - Before you can even start practicing it. And because it is so aligned to the Indian spiritual tradition it's more complex, it's not just an intellectual thing. It's really connected to mysticism and spirituality and so the merit of a Vedic Astrologer really depends on how far they've also grown in their spirituality and how much other broader knowledge they have . All the divine powers that rule the universe, they are very much a part of the Vedic Astrology chart so you need to understand such a wide body of knowledge to look at a horoscope properly.

It goes much deeper into the actual soul information of a person.

Claudia - Interesting. You know with a regular Western Astrologer you can tell them your birth date and they can start rabbiting off things about you..

Veno - They can to a certain degree but there's a limitation on how much they can tell. It is not as specific. Alot of it is quite psychological. Vedic Astrology also uses transits which Tropical Astrology uses but they also have other types of systems for prediction which are very complex and you can see alot more of what's going to happen in a persons life in the future in very specific areas related to finance or health or career etc..

It's more detailed and accurate. It has clarity.

Claudia - So what kind of things can you tell somebody when you look at their chart.

Veno - A Vedic Chart covers every realm of human life experience. You should be able to see the basic personality of someone, the karmic reasons for why they are here, you can see aspects of their past life, their future life, you can determine their time of death, nature of the death, what kind of career they will have, what kind of children they will have and what kind of experience they will have with their children, you can determine what they will do financially, what kind of health problems would arise in their life and at which times in their life , the types of relationships and friendships they will have, you can just about see anything you wanted to. You can even actually determine through a series of calculations the type of sex that your parents had when they were conceiving you.

Claudia - wow. My daughter had passed away a year ago and I had met a guy online who was learning to do Vedic Astrology and he did a chart on my daughter and he told me she was going to be very sick during the period that she passed away and it ended up that she died. i thought it was really interesting that he hit it that close.

Veno - Yes, it is a very complex thing Astrology. And with children they have a thing where you can't fully determine the child's longevity until they reach 12 years old, because alot of the personal karmas of the child are still very much interrelated with the parents. It's a genetic thing as well which goes very deep into what happens to a person. But yes, you can see the likelihood of that happening with your daughter through Vedic Astrology.

Claudia - Well afterwards it was like Wow, I wish i had known what he was really talking about.

Well just to give people an idea you did a chart on me, it's hard for people to just call in and give you their information cause this is so involved to do a chart, so we had you do one on me so you can kind of give people an idea on what the chart was like.

Veno - Well basically i made your chart last night and looking at it from the beginning I'm looking at your Ascendant. The Ascendant is your basic personality, the energy which you bring with you into this life, the general foundation of energies that accompany you all through your life. Your Ascendant is in Scorpio in a constellation called Anuradha and you have the Ascendant ruler there Mars in Anuradha. Scorpio inclines a person towards mysticism alot of the time and because Anuradha is such an occult constellation you have to move towards the occult at some point in your life in quite a deep way. Scorpio deals with all the undercurrents of emotions and feelings, it makes you very interested in the undercurrents of things. It's a very psychic and emotional plane and Scorpio is very turbulent as well. It has to do with death and regeneration. It means your life is always going through major transformation.

Because you have Mars there, it's quite a pure energy of the Scorpio energy and you also have Mars in Scorpio in another chart called the Navamsa which is a supporting chart for the main chart. You have a very powerful Ascendant. Mars for Scorpio is the 6th lord and Mars is a very strong malefic. It will cause you to have alot of accidents and upsets in your life. It brings up alot of health issues for you but at the same time it also gives you a powerful ability to overcome those difficulties and it makes you a healer...

Claudia - For feedback on that I was in like a dozen car accidents and my daughter was brain damaged due to the last accident that I was in. So I have been in alot of accidents and I do have physical problems, Fibromyalgia, Back Pain , things like that so that is very accurate.

Veno - It will give you the destiny of a healer and also because Anuradha has to do with associating with groups, it gives you a life where you have to be part of group work, cooperative ventures quite alot. Mars will give you a certain degree of recognition in life as well.

You have alot of planets in your 4th house in Aquarius mostly in a constellation called Shatabishak. It shows that you're a very private individual and you'll spend a great deal of time at home and you'll work from the home as well most of the time.

Claudia - Very true.

Veno - And also that you have to experience alot as a mother, you have to understand that from so many different perspectives , your own personal relationship with your daughter, the mother figure that rules the universe, you have to embrace the compassion of the mother, that's a real guiding force in what you do. It's a very nurturing thing ..

Claudia - People say my energy is like the earth mother..

Veno - Shatabishak is alot about peering into the future, it deals with the visionary side of things.. you have to do alot of that in your work..

One of the most important planets in your 4th house is Mercury and it's your atmakaraka. It's a representative of your soul and it's in a constellation called Purvabhadrapada. So your most important experiences in life do have to do with the mother concept and you have to experience alot of painful things in relation to that, death, the death of others near you, very extreme things in life which may seem very negative in nature which cause so much upheaval in you, but that is part of your learning process as a soul in this life.

You also have Jupiter in the 7th house. This gives you quite a good marriage in the sense that there's loyalty there cause marriage can be quite difficult. But for you marriage can always sustain itself through the difficulties through higher wisdom and understanding.

You have the Moon and Saturn placed in your 12th house in Libra and Saturn is exalted here. This gives you a very beautiful spiritual path in life. Spirituality will give you alot of happiness in life, so you must be very active on the dream, astral planes as well. And you have your Moon there as well, your 9th lord in the 12th it gives you a very strong mental focus always on how to try and do things which are spiritually liberating for yourself. It shows you're always trying to focus on a spiritually progressive path in this lifetime.

You have your nodes in the 2nd /8th house axis. The nodes in Astrology have to do with the past life and the future life. You have Ketu which has to do with the past life in your 8th house and this shows that alot of your talents which you carry over from a past life has to do with psychic abilities and things of that nature.

You generally have to use the talents from your past life to move ahead in the future and the path that your soul is developing in this life has to do with Rahu in the 2nd house in Uttarashadha. It has to do alot with establishing a new family. Because you have so many Aquarian planets it means going from the personal family to a more collective view of family.

Claudia - More spiritual view, yeah

Veno - And it's one of the reasons why you had to experience a personal loss very dear to you in your own family.

Claudia - So that I can understand and help other people.

Veno - Yes, you have to learn to embrace a much wider view of family and that helped to trigger that thing in you even though it was a very difficult experience for you.

Also Rahu in the 2nd shows that you're learning to be independant financially, make money through learning to interact with people on a one to one basis through counselling, giving them advice..

Claudia - Which is exactly what I do..

Veno - And it shows there's alot of new areas for you to discover in terms of diet, learning to refine your diet. Because you will see that diet actually plays a big role in helping us purify our life force , our energies in the body. The things we eat do make a big difference on the stability of our mind and they do help us on our spiritual path. So that is something you will also be learning in this life.

Claudia - And that makes sense because I study all of that. I study diet, I study herbs,

Veno - Well I can go further into the chart..

Caller - Yes Hi, it's very interesting> Shall i give you my date 8/ 22/48?

Veno - Did you have a question specifically related to your chart?

Caller - i'm planning on i want to move. I want to make sure when I move in october, it's safe and everything stays in the house.

Veno - And what time were you born?

Caller - 6.28am

Veno - What city were you born in?

Caller - Philadelphia, Pennysylvania

Veno - Can you repeat your question to me again?

Caller - I want to leave my house. I have to go away for a couple of days. I want to make sure everything is intact and nobody breaks in the home between October and December and also i'm looking for a house sitting job so i can stay there and get paid..

Claudia - Well i will say that psychically i get that everythings gonna be fine..

Veno - When I look at your chart you don't actually have any theft problem with the house. There's nothing you really have to worry about with your house.. it's always quite protected. You have Jupiter sitting strongly in a nice position in Scorpio in the 4th house , but you do have a natural suspicion about it because of Scorpio being the sign on your 4th house and you do have the 4th lord in the 2nd in Virgo which makes you pay alot of attention to detail about the home and things of that nature..but you actually don't have anything to worry about. The time that you mentioned as well. that will be the Sun period.. the Sun is in the 1st house really strong in your Ascendant so I wouldn't say you need to worry about your house at all.

Caller - So people are gonna change their mind and not going to rob me like they planned?

Veno - I don't see anyone robbing you..

Claudia - Did somebody tell you they were going to do that?

Caller - Some people used to live in my house .they are thieves. They did steal from me already.

Veno - The thing is with your chart, I can see that you've had a problem with enemies in the past but because you are running a Sun period in the time that we are talking about and the Sun is you and it's so much more powerful over the enemies you won't have any trouble at the time that you asked me about.. I do feel this problem you've had with enemies you will be able to get on top of it over the next 5 years and you won't have any problems after that. I can see there is a problem with enemies troubling you but I don't think your house is under threat at the time you asked me about..

Caller - Well after this year I don't plan to be living at this location.

Veno - Well that's a good thing because I do see you find a way out of your situation that is troubling you quite soon, and it shouldn't bother you .. I don't see any problem

Caller - yeah well then they won't find me so they can't cause problems..

Veno - Yes, in the horoscope you have the upperhand in the future. I don't see a problem there.

Caller - Oh, that's wonderful.. Can I ask one thing?

Veno - Yes

Caller - Will I get some kind of referral from somebody that I know for the housesitting so I can work more on my health? My health hasn't been good..

Veno - You will improve.. in 2 days time you're going to enter your Sun period and the Sun is very strong in your chart.. Saturn the 6th lord is very close to the Sun and that's why you have been feeling quite troubled on a health plane but over the next 6 years you should be in fairly good health.. You will be able to find the right medical treatment for yourself, alot of it has to do with you. you taking control of your body more. just being more disciplined with yourself. I see you doing that quite alot over the next 6 years and you should be able to get your body into a good state of health during that time.

Caller - That's excellent..

Veno - Alot of getting yourself better seems to boil down to you and what you decide to do for yourself. I think if you listen to what your body needs at any given point whether it's to do with exercise, diet.. I think you can put yourself into good health.

Caller - Thankyou so much.

Claudia - I'm really impressed with the things that Vedic Astrology is telling. It seems very accurate and very detailed.

Veno - Yes, it's extremely detailed.I was going to tell you that also with your chart I gave you a quick overview of your basic chart but you're running certain periods as well because Vedic Astrology has a very complicated system of timing.. so I can just go quickly into your periods.

You are currently running your Mercury period. You started this in 2000 and it's going to run until 2017 and because Mercury is your soul planet this period till 2017 is going to be the most important period for your soul's development and it is where you have to undergo very extreme things on an emotional plane and spiritually.. so alot of the things as a mother, that whole issue is being brought up in the Mercury time. It's about working through that and seeing how to use it, transform it to use it for a more collective purpose. In this Mercury period right now you're going through your Mercury Moon period until December next year 2008. This shows a whole lot of learning for you in spirituality. it shows you really opening up and developing that side of yourself and it also brings in alot of foreign opportunities into the picture for you. It does show alot to do with travelling or foreign things in general and I do feel you might have to travel quite a bit.

Claudia - I have actually seen that coming.. I just wasn't sure when or how..

Veno - I'd say the travel thing is going to happen more from February next year. The period just before that seems to show important meetings with people, new people coming into your life.. then from February next year it seems to show you thinking alot about travelling and possibly going on some very long journeys.

Claudia - Well I'm ready..

Veno - The Moon period is really quite nice.. the only thing with the Moon period is it's with Saturn.Saturn is a very serious energy. It also carries a very melancholic nature so you do have to try and maintain your detachment from things or to realise the impermanence of things a little bit more so you don't get too embroiled emotionally.

Claudia - Exactly, yeah.

Veno - That's very important for you so you don't get down or melancholic about anything too much.

Claudia - And that's helped me to get through the death of my daughter.

Veno - Yeah, it is alot to do with detachment, because of Mercury in Purvabhadrapada. There's a famous guru, Ramakrishna, he's a famous guru from India and he had very strong Purvabhadrapada energies like you do, he worshipped a goddess called Kali and she's the goddess that deals with death and all those very extreme life experiences and in a way you're actually related to those types of goddesses in your chart.. goddesses associated with the most extreme experiences and to learn great detachment . that's what it's about.

Claudia - And i have had to do that.. that totally makes sense.

Veno - Yes, cause you're a very committed person and so when you're interested in something you put your whole heart and soul there , everything goes into it that's why especially on an emotional plane when you give so much of yourself then it can be hard to maintain a sense of detachment.

Claudia - Right, that was a very hard thing for me to learn.

Veno - Yes, I had a similar experience and it is hard to maintain your detachment when you're so emotionally involved and to learn to see someone from a soul perspective, not just from an emotional plane..

Claudia - And to learn to let them be who they need to be and experience what they need to experience.

Veno - You have a really powerful chart I have to say..

Claudia - Thankyou.

Veno - And it is really beautiful on the heart plane because the heart finally is the door to enlightenment. When we develop really true compassion in the heart and purity on that level that is the door that takes us to a higher place when we leave this world and you have so much beautiful energy going into those areas in this lifetime.

Claudia - Is there anything in there about me being able to move?

Veno - Yes that's another thing Mercury will do. It will give you change of residence.

Claudia - i've been trying to do that for 20 years..

Veno - Well mercury will definitely do that for you. I think you will go travelling in the Moon period next year. I think the move is gonna come next year when you travel.. because you have Anuradha rising .. people with Anuradha ascendants indicates that oneday they have to emigrate to a foreign land. because their destiny lies in a foreign land. Now a foreign land can mean just a different state to you but because the planets in your chart have alot to do with very far away countries; which I think you'll get in touch with next year in quite a big way, I think you will actually move completely to another country. Because you can't run this 17 years of Mercury without having a drastic move of location. It's impossible. It's just because you have your Sun in the 4th house as well which has kept you a long time in the homeland but I do see you moving away from that in the future.

Claudia - My son is in a 2 year college.. he just started. I figure when he gets out of his 2 years is when we'll move.

Veno - I think you could move then. I think it might even be a bit longer than that, in about 4 years time.

Claudia - If i can travel i'll be happy.

Veno - You will do alot of travelling in the future.. your destiny is going to make it happen. There are going to be opportunities next year for you which just encourage you to go along that path.

Claudia - I would love to do that, travel, teach and speak and share the things that I know with people.

Veno - Speaking is a very important thing for you. The good thing about this radio show is you get a chance to use your voice, just rely on the voice.. that's very important for your growth.

Claudia - Yes and to be able to share and help others..giving advice. It's very important to me to help people in that way.

Veno - Well I do see you being able to help alot of people.. that is your destiny. You are here to heal other people. The psychic gifts that you have that's just a tool, but really you are essentially a healer.

Claudia - I much prefer healing to being a psychic. It's alot more fulfilling.

Veno - It's because that's your Ascendant. The psychic stuff comes from a past life and the healing is happening in the present life so it is more important in this life for you to do that.

Claudia - Let's talk about these books you have written.. you've written several books?

Veno - I cowrote a book about the Sun. There's a lot of Sunsign Astrology which happens in the newspapers everyday. Everybody knows astrology basically through their Sunsign. It's such a limited view of things because people's charts are not just the Sun. The Sun in the chart is to do with the self on one level but Astrology is so much more specific and detailed. That's why Sunsign predictions are so incorrect. They don't have any relevance to people.

I wrote this book with my previous partner covering more information about the Sun, what its importance is, tries to give a deeper picture about how to use it rather than just what they write in the newspapers. I was trying to make a point that Tropical Astrologers should take into account the precession of the equinoxes. The system they used from Ptolemy was aligned with the stars 2000 years ago. It's important to maintain that. It's something that Tropical Astrologers can learn from Vedic Astrology. Alot of Astrolonomers really denounce Astrology. What they know of it is Tropical Astrology. They denounce it because it really doesn't make astronomical sense. In all ancient civilizations they always kept the precession of the equinoxes very much in view, Mayan civilization, Egyptian civilization, Aztec civilization.. their buildings and structures are aligned to the Sidereal Zodiac..

Alot of our key to knowledge in the present time is related to the ancients and we should try and hold onto that rather than try to create new things, we should go back to our ancestors. Alot of the books I've worked on with my partner. They are about trying to maintain that ancient knowledge and reintroduce it. Tropical Astrology came from Babylonia and Vedic Astrology comes through India, but because humanity goes through different cycles, I think at a golden age far back in time, all of the systems were just one system. There is only true knowledge and the truth goes back to one thing only, so I'd say Vedic Astrology and Tropical Astrology used to be one thing, so today they can both learn from both systems.

Claudia - If people want to get a reading from you, what kind of readings do you offer?

Veno - I can do a full birth chart reading which covers every aspect of their life and predictions of what's going to happen in their future. I can just look at one question for a person. I can give people a spiritual reading which is just based on their past life, what they need to do spiritually in this life to evolve themselves, to reach their true potential in the chart. I can give people readings just on the timing of things, upcoming events.

I can also choose names for people if they want to find a name for their company or give their child a name. Names carry vibrations and so it's good to have a name that will attract certain vibrations which are going to be helpful to you. Sometimes a name can change everything. I've known bands where I've looked at their charts and I've seen they really need to change their name if they want to be successful and when they changed their name they were actually very successful.

I can also give remedial measures. Some energies that people are born with in the chart are very difficult to deal with and they can cause alot of problems in their life, so there's alot of magical things you can do to make those energies better.

Claudia - I was told when my daughter was sick by that guy that was studying Vedic Astrology, he told me to get a certain ring for her to wear and i wasn't able to find what he suggested.

Veno - That can definitely help. There's more things which are more important than the outer adornments like jewellery, which is doing mantras or certain prayers which can just keep a certain difficult planetary energy under control.

I can also rectify a birth chart for someone who doesn't know their birthtime at all, just by taking the events of their life I can work backwards and find out the time they were actually born. Also if a person doesn't know anything about their birthtime, the year or date even, you can actually make a chart of the moment which will reveal what their question is in the chart and the chart will also answer that question for them.
